Lesson #23 Hi Mom's and Grandma's
Happy Mother's Day!
Thanks so much for tuning in and welcome to Season 3 of the Live Streaming Sunday Sessions. In this lesson, we pay tribute to all the ladies that take care of us, and discuss two pieces of drumming vocabulary: Hi Mom's and Grandmas...
One afternoon, after I had made the same mistake multiple times in a row, my Mom pointed out the wrong note on the page, yet again. Frustrated, I finally spoke up. "Mom, I can hear when I play a wrong note, you don't have to tell me every time."
She looked at me and said, "Oh, you don't like it when I tell you you played a wrong note?"
"No," I whined.
"Well then stop playing wrong notes."
Cheers to all the ladies that take care of us, and thanks, Mom, for teaching me the importance of correct repetitions!
This week's handout also features an example Tap Off where we apply these two pieces of vocabulary. Hope you have fun with this one, and when you post a video of yourself playing it, be sure to tag me on your favorite social media platform @hueiyuanpan.
