Play can take many forms. As children we may have built blanket forts, spent hours cataloging seashells, or sword-fought with friends. Play is how we learn about the world, ourselves and one another. Missing out on this leaves us feeling exhausted, isolated, overwhelmed and short-tempered. Play offers risk and reward, challenge and excitement, comfort and release. We may also call it creativity or flow.
